If you haven't found out yet, I have finally released a "program" of sorts for the Mac!!! I've been considering doing exactly this project for a very long time... If you used the classic mac around the System 7-ish days, you may remember the AfterDark Screensaver. It allowed the addition of "modules", and you could download a ton of the net...

There was a Torgo module made by a few people, in which Torgo would walk across your screen while the Torgo Theme played. This was, of corse, tied to Manos: The Hands of Fate (If you don't know who Torgo is, click here). For some time now I have been wanting to update this module to the ultra-modern Mac OS X. Being a programmer with several years & language experience, I knew I could do it, however I had never worked with Apple's Objective-C. I also learn by example, and for the longest time I couldn't find any screensaver source code avaible online that would help me in the means I needed. That was until I fell across a Mac OS X screensaver called MillenniuM.

I could tell in a matter of seconds that this saver had everything I needed to make a the Torgo saver I had been dreaming about for a few years... The main problem was, the source was not avalible for download... So I sent an email to it's author (Chris Carter), asking if he would be willing to share the source code. Very generously he said yes, and I was on my way!!!

A few days later, Torgo - The Screensaver of Fate was born!!! Though it is only a screensaver, and a simple on at that, it was the "real" Mac program I've written (real being used loosely)...

At this point I'm contemplating a new saver, time will tell if I ever get it under way...
