iMac 3rd Quarter Conference Call
Being an owner of one share of Apple Stock, I do like to get an idea of how the company is doing. Of coarse my devotion & fondness of Apple products probably plays a role in this too...

There is an interesting tidbit that came out of it, however...

Shipments of G5-based Power Macs were very constrainted due to CPU supply problems from IBM. Apple said the same constraints were the major factor in the forthcoming G5-based iMac...

So, the new iMac that has been rumored about all over the place (mainly due to Apple cutting off shipment of current model iMacs, a very predictable indication that something is coming), and later confirmed by Apple (with absolutely no details, however) is waiting on more G5 chips to begin shipping... I'm actually very amazed, I think this is the quickest turn around between new chip release and iMac inclusion... Of coarse taken in to the fact that there have only been 2 previous chips ever in an iMac, it's not like the opportunity comes around very often...
