I'm watching a re-run of the Peter Jennings UFO special listening to the SETI scientists talk about how they're doing it right and UFOlogists do it wrong...

One interesting thing to consider: If an alien civilization used the exact method SETI is to scan for signals, then pointed their little dish at earth, THEY WOULD FIND NOTHING!!!

You see, the conundrum here is that SETI is scanning the 1400 MHz range. Interestingly we on Earth do NOT use this radio signal range for anything.

Question: If you're doing a through scientific study "the right way", why would this choice of "the right way", when applied to Earth, show nothing???
