This was my first Halloween in my new appartment. And as in prevous years I was not home, as I had gone to help out at my church's family fun night... Since this was the first year where nobody was home at my place, I put a bunch of candy into a dish outside my door, with a sign that read "Take Two, Please Be Kind!". Note that this was good candy (the "fun size" of all the normal candy bars), not the kind nobody likes...
Well, I assumed when I got home I would find and empty dish of candy, while wondering all night if a few kids had stolen all of it, or if it lasted though all the kids that came by. The ideal ending would have been comming back to find a handfull left in the dish, indicating the candy lasted though the night...
Well, much to my surprise, niether of the above occured. In fact as of now I'm still not sure if ANY of the candy was taken, as the dish was almost as full if not completely full as when I left. If any of it is gone I would have to assume a max of 10 kids came by... Thats probably an over estimate though... Having been a kid myself, I remember as a kid always wanting to head twards the appartment complexes as they were concentrated, so you would always be able to cover more doors and get more candy.
I'm left wondering if there are no kids in this complex every year, or if things were unusual this year... But as of now I'm left with two $10 bags of candy from CostCo, and no ideas on what to do with all of it...
