Having gone to target last night & seeing a box of 1.9 lbs of red Swedish Fish, I thought I'd do a search to price how much a 3 lbs bag costs... A couple years back I bought a 3 lbs bag of multi-colored Swedish Fish (ironically, I prefer the other colored flavors more than the red), and enjoyed them for quite some time...
At any rate I ran across
this as the first result for Swedish Fish. I had to laugh when reading the article. Knowing exactly what they were, I was surprised to see the research the site did to determine they were in fact not real fish, but candy. Having read the question though, I can understand why they would go this route though, as the question didn't include what type of recipe it was... Assuming it's not a desert, Swedish Fish would be an odd ingredient...
I wonder how Swedish Fish would taste battered & fried... Hmmm....
[update]
Apparently it was a 5 lbs bag I bought, not 3... And the current price is
just under $20...
