I never thought I'd see the day that I would side with MoveOn.org on any issue... I'm still shuttering...
Apparently sites like
this are trying to blindside some republicans in to believing Network Nutrality is bad. In fact, all network nutrality aims to do is to prevent the internet from becomming like commercial TV, where if you have a little website (like I do here), you may end up having to pay big bucks to ensure people can see your website. While this is an extreme, this result is entirely possible. I don't know if you've got a website or not, but I can tell you I could not afford to pay a fee to ensure you are able to read this... The ads on my site bring in around 1/10 of what it consts me to run this. If Network Nutrality is not maintained (key word here), I may loose all the work I put into my little corner here on the net...
Essentially what Network Nutrality aims to do is to keep comapines like AT&T & Verizon from going: "Hey, you, with the website! You like people to see your site? Well I tell you what, if you want people to continue to see your site, you'll need to give me a little green, know what I'm sayin?"
The truth is, it would be nice if the regulation was NOT necessary, but being the so called anti-regualtion sites are not taking steps to
prevent private regulation of the internet, who do they expect me to side with???
Anyway, find out the truth
here.
