UTC - Missouri Officer Threatens To Create False Charges
In yet another case of cops grosely violating the rights of citizens, A police officer in St. George, Missouri threatens to make up charges against an innocent citizen telling him "You want me to show you what a cop does?".

This time the entire thing is caught on tape, so Sergeant Kuehnlein can't exactly back his way out of this one.

Just another case of police overstepping the rights of citizens. All be it his statement made it seem like this is fully justified as a normal thing, which unfortunately seems to be the norm among police officers.

I'd love to see the statistics about this abuse of citizens rights you have compiled (I am sure you have compiled them, based on your statement).

Seems to me the person in question was being a jerk for no good reason to the police officer.

        """"
        1:07
Officer #1: How we doin? What's going on?
        Brett: Nothing.
Officer #1: Why you parkin here?
Brett: Can't I park here? It's a commuter lot right?
Officer #1: Yeah, but we have problems after midnight time. People break into cars. You got any ID on you?
        Brett: Yeah, I do.
Officer #1: Can I see it please?
Brett: Did I do something wrong?
Officer #1: Yeah you're a suspicious vehicle right now.
        Brett: I'm what?
Officer #1: [Leans into the car and yells] You are a suspicious vehicle right now.
Brett: In a commuter parking lot?
Officer #1: Yeah you are cause we have car thieves in here. Yeah you're right.
Brett: Cause I can park right here.
Officer #1: You want me -- You wanna come out of the car? Come on out. Come on out.
        """"

If "Brett" had said what he was doing there (after all the officer DID tell him that there had been thefts in the parking lot and him sitting there in the car seemed suspicious) then all would have been alright I am sure.

That's the problem with people, instead of just answering the officer's first question, they give them attitude and behave uncooperatively.

Since when is being a jerk a crime?

Since when does the officer have a right to lie about what a citizen is doing in order to have him held in jail?

There are two simple facts here: The guy did nothing ILLEGAL, and the cop threatened to make stuff up to send him to jail.

And once the cop was informed about the camera, he was clearly backtracking because he KNEW he was the one who was wrong.

THE INFORMATION YOU POINT OUT HAS NO BARING ON THIS FACT!!!
