UTC - Reagan Simi Valley Viewing
On Monday this week, I attempted to go to Simi Valley after work, to wait in line in hopes of going to the Reagan Presidential Library to be able to view Reagan's casket. After waiting in line for an hour, an officer came arround saying things we could not bring with us. I had my laptop and it was one of the items not allowed. By this time I had moved 20 feet in line and had to go back to my car (which involved waking down a huge flight of stairs I had to walk up). I was exausted by the time I got back to my car, so I ended up leaving...

I decided that night I was going to get up & head back to Moorpark College in the morning, around 4:30-AMish... After my alarm went off Tuesday morning at 3:30 AM, I didn't feel anywhere near going though the whole process, so decided then that I would skip going in the morning. That day durring my lunch break I heard on the radio that "Anybody in the line after 3:00 PM will NOT be able to view Reagan." I became a little disappointed again, but told myself "I tried."

On my way home from work that day (4:30 PM), I heard on the radio that the viewing time had been extended. I was 2/3 the distance home, and had to do a 180 and come back up the freeway. The freeway I needed to get on to go was very close to my work, so I had litarally completely driven past it already. I drove up & was pleased to fine that there was almost no traffic at any point up until parking at Moorpark College...

I ran up & signed a condolence book (assumibly going to the Reagan family), then got in line. The line probably had around 2000-5000 total people, and took me 1 & 1/2 to two hours to get though, on to the bus. I was excited that after getting off the bus, the line was increadibly short, and I was in within 15 mintues. The actual viewing session lasted about 45 seconds, and consisted of walking in the small area the casket was at, walking down one side, across the back end, and back up the oppisite side. It was quick but it was something I was very glad to be able to take part in...

Upon leaving some staff at the Library were giving out cards. I held mine very carefully (as I had seen others do as I walked past them on my way up). I breifly wondered if I could get anything for it on eBay, though even if the answer was yes, I wouldn't consider selling it unless it were for a large amount of money. I'm hoping to get it fraimed so I can keep it in good shape.

It appears that My breif though about selling it on eBay was not completely origional. This one here is currently over $60 as I'm writing this:
