UTC - Chanting: The Idiot's Alternative to Intelligent Argument
I was just listening to John Ziegler on KFI outside San Quentin on the eve of Tookie Williams' execution, and was rather amused once again about the idiot's chanting. You see, when they chant, they don't have to answer real questions, and it makes them feel like they have a leg to stand on...

The only problem is most people who listen know the truth, they don't have a clue... Think of it, is rhyming a sign of intellect???

Last time I checked, you didn't see a presidential debate where one candidate sat there making stupid rhymes, most of which have no merit. Yet these middle school drop outs still use this tactic, because they know on their face they have no real argument.

I mean what kind of argument is "There were finger prints found at the crime scene that didn't belong to Tookie" when the first crime scene was a 7-11??? Yes, of course there were other finger prints there, usually a minimum of 100 different people come into a 7-11 on a daily basis. I've been to a 7-11, have you??? So what kind of idiotic argument is this supposed to be???

Then they bring up the word "snitch" as if the word itself is supposed to encapsulate an entire argument. The person was most likely referring to a single witness whom another convict said was given information so he could claim Tookie told him this. This is a guess, however, because "snitch" was the only word she was able to come up with. It's important to note there were a total of 39 separate witnesses testifying against Tookie, and this guy's testimony was a tiny part of the overall picture.

She then said 3 witnesses and mumbled something else, she couldn't clarify which 3 or in what context the 3 played a roll... Apparently these random naming of people (most of whom we're left to guess as to who she might mean) were supposed to represent a solid argument.

If you were to give her the benefit of the doubt and subtract these 4 people she named, that still leaves 35 OTHER witnesses who pretty much conclusively implicate Tookie...

So then John and Ken list some hard facts from the case file, not general facts that your left guessing about, real hard facts (being they actually went though the case file in detail on the radio), and the person then says "where are you getting this from, I don't see you reading?"

No, idiot, that's because they actually did research and read the files prior to this day, not grabbed random bits of information from random people in random locations, then tried to quote these jumbles of information as seemingly coherent evidence.

But I'll refute her arguments with equally weighted arguments of my own: One guy once said Tookie did it... Case closed...

No wonder these idiots need to result to meaningless chanting...

      [update]

The woman making most the claims I listed above is shown here talking to "radio shock jocks" (as they are apparently described in one story) John & Ken. They were apparently chanting "Kill Tookie" in to their microphones. I must have missed that portion of the show, as I never heard them do that. Although I'm personally a fan of using others own tactics against them, even if I believe the tactics are stupid (mainly to show just how stupid the tactics actually are), so I might have done the same thing after several minutes of stupid chanting from other people...

Oh, apparently the woman who made the claims was a show host, meaning she had credentials. It's scary when someone with credentials can't give more than general oblivious statements as hard evidence...

      [update]

In relation to the statement John & Ken were chanting "Kill Tookie" into there microphones: Apparently the 5 hours of tape to go with the show proves this is wrong anyway, so it was a baseless lie cited by a fraudulent reporter to beef up an empty story. In the same story apparently a couple dozen people turned into a couple thousand. But reporters are never held accountable for blatant lies, so I guess in the end none of this matters anyway...

      [update]

The story can be found here, and is written by Leslie Fulbright. So Leslie Fulbright would be the fraudulent reporter I refered to above. Her justification was that they said the two words "Kill Tookie" at one point [that evening???]. So somehow this turns into screaming "Kill Tookie" into a microphone...

Though if you think about it, someone screaming "DON'T Kill Tookie" is still technically screaming the words "Kill Tookie"... So you could easily argue the majoriy of anti-death penelty people were also screaming the words "Kill Tookie" all night long...

      Ahem...

Everybody there fighting for Tookie's life were stanglely chanting "Kill Tookie" all night long... I think they said some other word in between the words "Kill Tookie" but I didn't think it was important enough to try and figure out what this word was...

Maybe I should be a reporter...
